Project Scope:  
GNE provided engineering services to renovate and/or retrofit existing Stand-by Generator fuel systems at 7 sites to meet current local and federal fuel storage and Department of Homeland Security standards. Existing 500 – 2000 gallon single-walled above-ground tanks removed and replaced with custom designed double-walled tanks.

Project Details:

  • Designed All piping, controls, monitoring, and day tanks replaced.
  • Performed renovations at seven unique water well, reservoir, and distribution sites.
  • Performed complete hazardous materials study prior to demolition
  • Managed a comprehensive demolition and renovation to avoid unavailability of generator systems
  • Provided tank design to meet minimum runtime requirements.
  • Designed custom level monitoring, leak detection, and over-fill alarms in accordance with existing SCADA system and proprietary operations systems
  • All safety and security measures met or exceeded those required by the Department of Homeland Security.
  • GNE personnel provided technical expertise to facility engineers and facility operators that prevented potential problems after installation and during operation.
