Image Client:
Shoreside Petroleum, Inc

Seward, Alaska

Project Scope:
Great Northern Engineering was contracted by Shoreside Petroleum of Alaska to design a new (4) tank API-650 bulk fuel tank farm located adjacent to the Seward seawall. The project was a multi-year Scope of Work which was broken up into several Design-build phases. GNE teamed with T-Bailey & Harmon Construction to complete the work. Final storage capacity of the new tank farm is nearly 100,000 barrels. Product storage includes ULSD, Jet-A, gasoline, Avgas, & heating oil.

Image All engineering work was provided in accordance with the requirements of the latest applicable local, State of Alaska, and National regulations and codes.

Project Details:

  • Phase I: GNE completed inspections of the existing on-site piping and rail lines, and provided updated as-builts to support the future Work,
  • Phase II: GNE completed the design for twin 10” product offloading pipelines, connecting the tank farm to the marine header;
  • Phase III: GNE completed a soils & geotechnical investigation of the proposed site for the new containment, tank farm, pump house, infrastructure & other new facilities;
  • Phase IV: GNE completed the design for the new Shoreside Tank Farm in Seward. The design included all site prep & secondary containment, foundations, (4) new API-650 fuel storage tanks, piping, structural steel, pump house, and all other necessary infrastructure to complete the Work;
